THE TRUTH ABOUT AFTERMARKET FAIRINGS

If you're considering spending between $500 and $1,000 on new fairings, take a moment to read this article. Here's what you need to know about aftermarket fairings.

We won't spend time boasting about how great our products are or criticizing our competitors. Instead, we aim to provide honest information so that every rider can make informed choices. Don't waste money; spend it wisely.

Types of Aftermarket Fairings There are two primary types of aftermarket fairings:

Injection Moulding Fairings (New and Popular Models) Injection-moulded aftermarket fairings generally offer similar quality, as they're typically made from the same ABS plastic material. It's estimated that at least 80% of aftermarket fairings are manufactured and supplied by one company called ZXMT. (You can usually find their mark inside the fairing panels.)

The main differences between injection-moulded fairings are in the quality of the paint, packaging, and after-sales service.

Pressure Moulding Fairings (Older Models) Pressure-moulded fairings are designed for older or less common motorcycle models. These fairings are often made by different factories, leading to varying quality and fitment. Note that we no longer sell these types of fairings—all fairings on our website are injection-moulded by ZXMT.

Installation and Fitment for the Two Types of Fairings Injection-moulded fairings generally have a perfect fit, though you might need to make some minor adjustments during installation. If you're having difficulty installing injection-moulded fairings, consider checking your motorcycle's frame or looking into the condition of your original fairings.

Pressure-moulded fairings, however, require more skill to install. If you're not experienced in working with motorcycles, it's best to have a mechanic assist you.

Quality of Aftermarket Fairings vs. OEM Fairings To be clear, aftermarket fairings aren't as high-quality as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) fairings. OEM fairings are known for their perfect fit and flawless paint jobs. If any seller claims their aftermarket fairings are as good as or better than OEM, you should be cautious.

Ultimately, we encourage you to do your research and choose the fairings that best suit your needs and budget. If you have any questions about aftermarket fairings, we're here to help.
